I am always looking for the perfect bag in which to carry books, a knife or two, some pens, and other odds and ends. The pockets work well for a cell phone and other gear. The main compartment is big enough for one good-sized book, such as a thick text book. The bag is well padded and protects your contents well. Plenty of Velcro, so the bag closes well. These are a little heavy, so probably not a good purchase for a child, but fine for adults. I am pleased with my purchase. I ordered two: one plain olive, the other camo. Both look great.

I use the next gen for carrying clip board with papers. Have used it to carry over 100 sheets of paper. Could be used to carry a laptop computer.
