This bag has an interesting grey green hue to it. The leather straps are in great condition.It has a steel thin frame for easy carrying surrounded by thick leather. The dimensions are 19x26. It is top loading with a 12" diameter. It is a beautiful bag.

THE ONE I RECEIVED WAS IN BRAND NEW UN-ISSUED CONDITION. I DON'T KNOW IF THEY ARE ALL LIKE THIS, BUT I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THE ONE THEY SENT ME, AND IT WAS CERTAINLY WORTH THE PRICE

It is a classic, understated pack. Well made and simple, I see only two faults with it. First, the closure straps are too short. They are not long enough to allow you to close the flap after filling the pack. Secondly, an outside pocket or two would have been nice. A few modifications fixed the short comings and you cant beat the price.

I bought this rucksack to use for day hiking around the post. It seems to have plenty of capacity for day hikes and maybe overnight if you are minimalist about it. The only down side is the leather. Mine was really dry and stiff. I bought some leather conditioner and used liberal amounts on all the leather. It helped but needs more. I can tell where repairs were made in the past. The main stap going across the lower back is torn through the rivets on each side. I will have to repair it. Also, the buckles hanging down in the front are for hooking to an ammo pouch. They don't seem long enough to reach to an ordinary belt. I 'll have to see if I can adapt them for use. Overall, it is an interesting pack and would be good for light use in its current condition. If it was A1 pristine, I would be willing to put it through some rough stuff to see how it performs.

This is a great and comfortable pack. It is actually the third one I have owned in the last 15 years. Ideal for work to carry tools, safety equipment, lunch and extra layers. I hope that this helps. I have been quite fond of this great pack. Especially now that I can up keep the leather. Thank you!

This is a good all around bag. HAven't tried it for wet weather ... yet. the only cons are it's size. Not recommended for subway/city travel or airport carry on.

Haven't found anything that this bag cannot hold!
