This product is very authentic. It has brass buttons and loops instead of snaps and is, therefore, acceptable as a WWII item. The color matches the reproduction M1928 haversack to a tee. The only problem that I had was that the poles had some rust that I was able to rub off with emerycloth and paint olive drab. One shelter half had a large rust stain that I was able to cover with tan fabric paint that I got for $7.00. The paint matched perfectly.
