I use the chest rig as a rapid deployment/accompaniment to when I am armed with my patrol rifle. It allow me to carry more ammo (as I have 10 additional 30 round mags in addition to the 2 that I carry w/the weapon). Hopefully I'll never have a protracted gun fight, but I plan to be prepared if I do.

I used this vest as an ammo carrier while playing paintball. I found the vest comfortable and vesitile for my needs. Getting in on and off was the only trouble but it was not a huge problem. It carried plenty of stuff and distributed the weight very well.
